Indiana County Head Start accepts enrollment applications all year round and we continue place children in our program through the end of April as openings become available.


Head Start services are Free to eligible families.

Head Start is taking applications for children who are 3-5 years old.  Early Head Start is taking applications for 0-3 and pregnant women.                                                                                                                                                                                                      ...Head Start offers education, health, nutrition, family support, and transportation assistance.

...Head Start gives priority to children with special needs.


When contacting us by email please include the following:

  2. Address
  3. Telephone number
  4. The best times to contact you
  5. Your child's name 
  6. Your child's birthday

When you contact us, basic family information will be taken then an appointment will be scheduled to complete the application.

Please bring with you to the appointment:

  1. Proof of income
  2. Verification the the child's date of birth


Once the application has been completed, a letter will be sent to the home stating whether your family is income eligible for the program or if the income has exceeded the guidelines. Your child will be placed on a waiting list where children are prioritized by age and need.


During enrollment Head Start must accept all income eligible four and three year old children first before anyone exceeding the income guidelines is considered.


Head Start and Early Head Start must be fully enrolled at all times. We will contact you if there is an opening for your child. If your address or phone number changes please notify the main office so we can best serve your family.

*Keep in mind even if your family exceeds the income guidelines, your child could still be accepted.*
