| You can make A Difference in the life of a child! | |
The main ingredient for success in our Head Start program is the involvement of families and individual members of our community.
We want and need families to be involved in our program, as well as community members. IUP students are also welcome.

The federal government provides 80 percent of our budget and our agency is responsible for a 20 percent matching share (Inkind). For the fiscal year 2003-2004, Indiana County Head Start had to obtain more than $400,000 locally.
Our agency is able to count all volunteer hours as Inkind, whether you're a parent, community member or an IUP student. Donations are also counted as Inkind.
If we hadn't raised the matching share, some of our federal dollars would have been returned and our program would have suffered financially - which means the Head Start children and their families would be losing services.
