* CALENDAR - The Head Start-IUP Collaboration program follows the IUP calendar.
* INKIND - Indiana County Head Start needs you! Your support of this program is extremely important. Remember to record all the time you volunteer for our program on the form at your center. Also, you can show your support by recording your mileage driving to and from the classroom, to and from meetings, etc. Any donations you make need to be recorded also. Any staff member will be happy to help you fill out the forms.
* MAIL - Mail will be sent home to the parents each Wednesday. Return the mail envelope the next day.
* EXTRA CLOTHES - Parents should send in extra clothes to be left at the center for their child. Put your child’s name on the clothes.

In collaboration with the Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Indiana County Head Start provides comprehensive services to 3-5 year old children who have at least one parent attending IUP on a full-time basis and qualify for Head Start services.

The classroom is located in G23 Davis Hall. Hours of operation are from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Parents must provide their own transportation for their children. Breakfast, lunch and snack are provided daily.

Education - Head Start provides a developmentally appropriate curriculum. Program objectives include social, physical, emotional and cognitive development.

Special Needs - Head Start provides speech therapy and other services to meet the special needs of individual children.

Health - Head Start provides health screenings and services. These include medical, dental, vision, mental health and nutrition services.

Parent Involvement - Because parents are the most important influence in their child's development, parent involvement is essential in the Head Start Program. Parents are encouraged to take part in meetings, trainings, family literacy, parent-teacher conferences, goal setting for their child, parent-child home activities and volunteering their time in the classroom.

Social Services - Head Start refers families needing help to appropriate medical, social, welfare, employment and educational agencies within IUP and the local community.
