Required Clearances (not due until hired)
In accordance with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Department of Education School Services Unit, ALL APPLICANTS FOR EMPLOYMENT with public and private schools including student teachers and independent contractors and their employees, must undergo background checks. Act 151 (Pennsylvania Child Abuse History), Act 34 (Pennsylvania Criminal History) and Act 114 (FBI) must be renewed every five years.
Act 151: PA Child Abuse History Clearance ($13.00 per person)
You can submit and pay for the PA Child Abuse History Clearance through the Child Welfare Information Solution (CWIS) self-service portal.
Act 34 – Pennsylvania Criminal History ($22 per person)
You can complete this form online and print or download the results.
Act 114 – Fingerprinting ($23.85 per person/Indiana County Head Start will reimburse)
You will need to create an account and schedule an appointment. You will also need to bring your enrollment document, ID, and payment (if not already prepaid) to the fingerprint site. You can find designated locations at: https://www.identogo.com/locations/pennsylvania
Sex Offender Check
Indiana County Head Start will run a check through the sex offender list on your behalf.
You will need to visit visit your healthcare provider or Indiana's MedExpress, etc. to complete for a physical. You will need to bring or send your results (via fax, email, etc.) to Indiana County Head Start, Inc.
